A new building that looks and feels very traditional but functions as a cozy modern hotel. The house with "çardak" is a type of mansion typically found throughout the Balkans. This variant is mostly found among the Albanian populated areas.
Originally, the lower floor served only as a storage space while the upper floor would serve as living quarters. In this project both floors will be used for guest accommodation, relaxation and service areas.
Originally the "çardak" was a multifunctional space that served both as the sole open corridor connecting the rooms and as a working area during the warmer seasons.
The "oda e miqve" (guest room) was a large special room reserved only for guests and special gatherings. A decorative, non functional chimney was often the centerpiece of the room while everything else revolved around it.
This is another variant of the guest room with different windows.
Luxury bedrooms found on the upper floors of the building.
The bay window (also called qoshku) is another feature widely spread in Albanian architecture.
